Our Aerial Health Patrol (AHP) team visited Membok for the first time, located along the Fly River in North Fly District.
The team also visited Karemgo and Kukujaba, delivering outpatient care, antenatal and baby clinics, and family planning services. Reaching these villages from Kiunga takes anywhere between an hour to more than three hours by dinghy.
“This is the first time in a long time an SDP team has visited us,” said Kukujaba Ward 15 Councillor Istinus Caspar. “The community is happy that SDP is here.”
The team also donated a solar power inverter and medical fridge to support the Membok Health Centre.
“This will help with night deliveries, emergencies, and safe storage of vaccines and anti-venom,” said CCHS Health Manager Sr. Philomena Sanduku.
Our health patrol program reaches 111 remote communities and 90, 000+ people providing essential primary healthcare services such as Outpatient Care, Awareness on disease prevention, maternal and infant health clinics, eye care, Family planning and fertility counselling.
