SDP Supports WPHA’s Partners Conference

Conference participants at the Balimo Hub.
Last week, we were happy to support the Western Provincial Health Authority with its 3-day Partners Conference in Balimo, Western Province. Our team provided logistics support, coordinating the travel and accommodation of 52 participants from multiple locations. More than 10 key health partners attended the conference, including Ok Tedi Mining Health Services, World Vision, Burnet Institute and the Catholic Church Health Services.
Dr Sylvester Huafolo, Director for SDP Health, reaffirmed SDP’s alignment with WPHA’s vision to create healthy, resilient communities in the province. “It’s not often you get a development partner who is fully aligned to a PHA for the long term”, he said.
With health as one of our core pillars, SDP is spending over PGK52m on the new Morehead Health Centre, which we’re launching in March. Our expanding health program also covers aerial health patrols, the Balimo School of Nursing, and the Balimo Hospital.
Galeva Sere, the Provincial Coordinator for District Health Services with WPHA was grateful for SDP’s help with critical medivacs and reaching far-flung communities.
The conference ended with a renewed commitment to support WPHA’s Mission to deliver quality healthcare through stronger partnerships and collaboration.
